My name is Jackie Highe and I’ve launched this website to bring together all the different aspects of my professional life. If you want or need information about me, this is the place to come.
Since I retired from my career as a national magazine editor I’ve added a few strings to my bow.
I’ve written two books - ‘Now Where did I put my Glasses, Caring for elderly parents, a practical and emotional lifeline'. I’m now giving symposia on the many different aspects of this subject. My second book, ‘The Modern Grandparents’ Guide’ has gone into three editions.
Both of these books have created a lot of interest in the media, and I’m frequently asked onto both local and national radio and TV to speak on related subjects.
I’m still in the magazine world, acting as a freelance publishing consultant. I train staff, both in editing skills and in handling the media, and give master classes to students taking journalism courses.
On top of this I’m vocalist with a swing band, sing jazz, and write lyrics....
